Tracee Ellis Ross, daughter to Diana Ross/inventor of the color magenta, hosted the American Music Awards last night. Like most people who spend two-plus hours in front of a camera and on a stage in front of millions of people, she changed her outfit a number of times. As she mentioned on her Instagram and Twitter before the show, all of the designers in her rotation were black.

Featured were well-known names like Olivier Rousteing and Virgil Abloh, but Ross also highlighted lesser-known names like Déshon, a recent graduate from Parsons, and Claude Lavie Kameni. Check out all 10 looks ahead, which she also outlined on her Twitter feed throughout the show. Now here’s a woman who does the culture proud.

First up, we have Ross in a Pyer Moss baby pink pantsuit by Kerby Jean-Raymond.

Next, the actress wore a Dapper Dan x Gucci cape. “We are a new kind of army. We lean on each other. We have each other’s backs,” she wrote on Twitter.

Here she is shining bright in a glimmering CD Greene gown.

Not one to shy away from making a statement—be it fashion or political—Ross wore an “I am a voter” T-shirt made in collaboration with When We All Vote and her stylist Kara Welch. She paired it with a skirt by Shanel Campbell.

One of our favorite looks of the night is courtesy of Virgil Abloh x Off White.

This totally casual, not loud at all outfit is by Sergio Hudson.

Another standout from the night is this printed dress from LaviebyCK.

Continuing with the suit trend, we have this major blue Dèshon number.

Ross closed out the night in this stunning red off-the-shoulder Cushnie jumpsuit.
